With the support work we do, we want to support organisations who build a brighter future for the street animals of Hong Kong and orphaned African elephants. Hong Kong Animal Adoption Centre (HKACC) rely on donations. In Hong Kong over 10,000 animals are abandoned annually and often the excuse is that the animal is too old, or too ill. For those that have little chance of adoption, sponsorship is a way to help cover their medical expenses. We sponsor Whiskey, a 15 year old blind Golden Retriever gentleman and Ping On, a 5 year old Husky Mix girl who has 3 legs.
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust do an amazing job raising orphaned elephants, nurturing them back into the wild. For the past 2 years we’ve fostered Ithumbah, a sweet girl who has re-integrated into the wild and living with ex-orphans. We now (2013) foster 1 year old Quanza, a timid girl who witnessed her mother and 2 sisters being killed by poachers for their tusks. Sadly many elephants are orphaned due to the cruelty of poaching – all to fuel the ivory trade in China and other parts of Asia.
